Okay, so I've realized that I didn't cover everything in my last rant, and I'm quite passionate about New Dante, so here goes...

Emo? Really? HAHA!

He looks more like a punk. Punks don't look emo. They look punk. 'Nuff said.

He does drugs? What? Is that according to you? Or Tameem? To you? Thought so.

...

I have nothing more to say now

(╯ಠ_ಠ)╯︵ ┻━┻
(╯ಠ_ಠ)╯︵ ┻━┻

Hey Icequeen! You're an emo slut!

(•_•)

Well...

( •_•)>⌐■-■

(⌐■_■)

Consider your soul mine.

YEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!

And they make rants about DmC which I do not bother reading or watching for I know they're only used to the original series and come mostly from butthurt fanboys/fangirls. If they have legit reasons why they don't like the game, asides from AU Dante's looks, I don't give a damn...
What they don't know is that Ninja Theory only developed a few games since the early 2000's (Heavenly Sword and Enslaved are some of them).
Also, the original DMC canon story is kinda messed up as it did not explain other things, like how Sparda met Eva, how Eva died at the hands of Mundus' army, how Dante and Vergil separated and so forth (I also wanted to hear them say "Jackpot!" for the first time, like how they say it togehter)... DMC3 an origins story? No.
What Ninja Theory is trying to do is to revive its story through a reboot, a retelling, an alternate universe of sorts. DMC1's story is kinda cliche...

And I agree. AU Dante's looks and attitude allude to the Punk Rock era. Emo was derived from Punk, but it does not mean Punk is Emo.

If you think labeling AU Dante emo, he is also being compared to two Twilight characters and the actors who portray them. Well, I see NO SPARKLES on him!

Labels are for things, NOT on people (fictional characters included); remember that!

I also notice that the theme of DmC is living in a corrupt society in a city where demons rule and the oblivious people there blindly follow the demons' brainwashing propaganda through media and commercialized products (the canned drink).
Bob Barbaras is like Jeremiah Jonah Jameson from Marvel comics; both depict the hero a menace to society (Spiderman and DmC Dante being labeled by them respectively) and Mundus (pronounced Mon-dus) is like the Kingpin, also from Marvel comics; both are depicted as malevolent crime lords who regard the hero as inferior to them and control the population through deceit and intimidation. (taken from the DMC wiki). Also, Mundus here is loosely based on Pope Boniface VIII, who was responsible for Dante Alighieri's exile from Florence. Dante settled his score with Boniface in The Divine Comedy by placing him in the eighth circle of Hell, Fraud.
DMC fans should always remember that The Divine Comedy is the main inspiration of the entire DMC series, including the alternate universe reboot. That is why the main protagonist's name is Dante, named after the poet himself and Vergil is named after the poet's guide in both Hell and Purgatory, Virgil.
(Sorry for the nerd/geek talk here; doing some further research about the DMC series as a whole here. I remember reading the entire Divine Comedy trilogy. I'm gonna go read it again.)

So the devs kept the original Dante attitude but had to make it to a teenager's. It could explain the immature F-bombs he did with the demon named Poison as well as "flipping the bird" on Bob and writing F U on the guest list because he wasn't invited. So it's kinda natural for some teenagers to be very rebellious.

Why do they insist that he's emo, especially that they insist that it's his hair that makes him emo? That not a very good argument to me.
Also I think that people think that he's on drugs cuz of his grungy looks. Though in my opinion he looks grungy cuz he's on the run. I mean would you be able to keep a nice clean look if you were on the run from the law at just about every turn, along with demons chasing after you too.
One more thing, first comment. YAY!
